How does Ops Work?

Searching For Help and Information

If you're here just looking for information, simply use the search box below or click any of the links to official PMDG content above.

Please make sure you search Ops for information on your issue first before posting in our forum.

Contribute to Community Knowledge

PLEASE NOTE - PMDG Ops is not a forum. If you just want to post a simple question or something similar, use our Support forum on AVSIM. Ops is designed for sharing information about using our products.

To create or edit pages, use of the simple Wiki Markup language is required. This is very similar to the forum code you are probably used to using on AVSIM or other message boards to format text except it's much more powerful here. The best place to start for learning how to use Wiki Markup is probably the How To Edit a Page article on Wikipedia. While some of the information specific to Wikipedia may not apply here, the basic and fundamental syntax needed to create articles is exactly the same. Another great way to learn is by viewing the source for already created pages, which you can do from the top of any article.

Wiki Markup can be as simple or as complicated as you're comfortable with - there's nothing at all wrong with creating an article using plain text - someone else with more markup skills is easily able to come along and spice up the article with tables, photos, and formatting templates later.

Before you write or contribute to your first article, feel free to try out anything you want on our Sandbox page. This page is totally open to any type of testing you want to do.

Have Ideas?

You'll notice that every page, even the official PMDG ones you can't edit, have a "Discussion" tab at the top of them. This is basically a forum thread for discussing the page. If you have an idea for something that should be added to the FAQ for a particular plane, feel free to ask for it there! We'll look at the Discussions and decide from there if it should be added. On the regular editable pages, the Discussion link should serve as a way of hashing out ideas and disputes before commiting them to the actual page.
